ECA don’t just handle Power and Gas, they provide advice on the Carbon Reduction Commitment, and have achieved a settlement discount of over £2,000 on a single site historic billing for Water.
ECA created an overall energy management strategy for our portfolio of seven Bodyshops. This included a procurement strategy that produced immediate savings against our current costs of over £59k, 23% with projected savings of £18k, 10% on forthcoming renewals. They also assisted us with getting metering up and running at one of our sites.
The Adil Group are a family business situated in London with trading stores throughout England and Scotland, employing over 3,500 people nationwide . With over 150 properties in their portfolio they have encountered numerous issues with the energy suppliers across billing, metering, procurement, consumption and legislation. They have worked with Steve for over 15 years providing expert utility advice in this time. Over this period working alongside Raja Adil, Steve has been successful in resolving numerous disputes with the energy suppliers, resulting in savings running well into the millions.
We value ECA’s expertise in the utility industry as well as their professional and ethical approach.
The management information is spot on, and essential for clubs like us. Now we understand how much work is ahead of us – but also the potential savings.

ECA dealt with a particular issue relating to a very large electricity bill and saved us about a third of the cost! ECA were very professional and responsive, taking time to listen to us, make sense of a very confusing situation and resolving it quickly, efficiently and very satisfactorily.

ECA developed in partnership with Aura Soma a strategic approach to how they purchase and consume energy across their portfolio. The first phase of recommendations saw ECA achieve savings for the negotiation of Electricity and Gas contracts of over £20,721, this being 49%.
We appointed ECA as our Energy Consultants in December and by the following January they had saved 55.49% on the renewal of a gas contract and 19.18% on an electricity contract. We look forward to seeing what further savings they can generate when the remaining contract comes due. We are very pleased with their service so far and are happy to recommend them.
The Arc Group
ECA have been looking after our Electricity contracts for the last six years and have found their services to be competitive and of great value.
From the outset I have been really impressed with ECA, the process has been spot on. Kit our assessor was great. I felt he understood the business well, along with our needs. I feel that Kit also came up with sensible achievable recommendations that seem to have met with approval with my site managers and these recommendations are also of a type that could be rolled out across sites, so potentially even greater savings! A good experience, thank you
Wilkin Chapman LLP
ECA Group have been totally professional in assisting our Trust through the minefield of ESOS Compliance Phase Two. They enabled us to complete our submission way ahead of the deadline. I would like to particularly mention Layla Elsom-Leak as my main point of contact for being extremely professional, light-hearted with what is a fairly dour subject and very helpful
Benenden Hospital Trust
Kit was very knowledgeable in ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management Systems and had a very good way of maintaining interest in the subject and getting buy-in from participants. He was able to understand our processes and interactions very quickly and provide relevant examples on ways to progress. A very good session and just as per our requirements.
At our Head Office and Storage Depot, we had an ongoing dispute with a major energy supplier for over £100K for almost four years. We weren’t quite sure what we could do further, before being introduced to ECA Group. They took on the case in a most friendly, but efficient way, and always kept us fully-informed. They gave us reassurance along the way, tempered with a realistic, yet competent and professional approach. The cumulative bill of £110K was re-credited to the true amount of £9K, and any monies overpaid on account were quickly refunded. My fellow directors and I cannot express enough gratitude to Steve Silverwood and his team. We would recommend them wholeheartedly.
ECA's ESOS assessor was very efficient and friendly, he certainly helped us see where we could make savings on site
Longleat Enterprises Ltd
Silver Healthcare are a care home provider with 4 homes, we had previously disputed invoices with our energy supplier going back over 4 years. The billing involved almost 350 credits and re-credits and we were unable to resolve despite employing the services of another energy consultant. ECA Business Energy got involved and completed a full review of all the billing, identifying numerous issues including incorrect contract rates, duplicated billing, VAT/CCL overcharges, late payment charges, incorrect statement of account, incorrect meter reads and incorrect non energy charges. Working alongside us on an agreed strategy ECA Business Energy successfully reduced the outstanding amount by over 60% and helped negotiate a payment plan with the supplier.
The administration team and consultants guided us through the whole ESOS process. I very much doubt if we would have been able to complete the assessment without their invaluable assistance

Previously the Trust had undertaken the procurement of utilities, but due to very poor treatment from one supplier, we wanted to explore other alternatives and were directed to ECA Business Energy. From my first conversation, I felt supported, guided and informed on the options, cost and timings and have transferred our gas, electricity and water utilities to them. We have received excellent service and am particularly grateful when having issues that I can phone ECA and know that they will take this away, explain if/what action is required and do this in a timely, friendly manner and leave me feeling confident and in control of our utility costs
Sheffield Hallam Uni
I would like to congratulate ECA Business Energy for the first class service he provided. They communicated with me throughout my procurement enquiry updating me in writing and by phone at every stage of the process. The service was quick, professional and in my opinion first class. Many thanks for making the process so easy.”

Door Deals are one of the Uk’s leading independent online timber door retailers, stocking a complete range of internal and external doors. We had an issue with our gas supplier following on from moving in to new premises. The supplier failed to respond to our communications and we were issued with bills on extortionate amounts and also a bill for a supply that was nothing to do with us. Our current broker were unable to resolve our issues and it looked likely we may have had to resort to legal action, this issue was taking up a vast amount of our time and causing huge distress to us as a business. That’s when we met ECA Business Energy, they quickly understood the situation and built an extremely strong case to put to the supplier on our behalf, using their experience of over 30 years in the industry to build a factual argument. The result of their work was a reduction in the bill of over 60% and also resolving the issue with the invoice that was nothing to do with us. We cannot thank them enough for their efforts and would highly recommend them to anyone.
After many ongoing billing issues with our original water provider we decided to investigate the possibility of moving supplier due to deregulation of the market. ECA presented a detailed review of all offers, arranged a meeting with a representative from the new retailer and provided advice throughout the process. Support has been ongoing through ECA’s bureau service which has been invaluable in dealing with the migration of our sites.
The ESOS service we received was excellent and efficient. Expert service delivered by the Auditor

2020 has been a difficult year for everyone and the Hospitality industry has suffered more than most. But, during this dark time, there have been small rays of light - companies and people like you, who did their upmost to support our industry. Which is why we at The Calcot Collection wanted to send enormous thanks for all your support over the lockdown period and beyond. I cannot express how grateful we are that spoke to suppliers to try and suspended our charges and assisted us to lower to costs, allowed us to change our contracts , the list could go on! You assisted us in so many ways, more than I can convey in this letter and we wanted to express our gratitude to you. Without your support we would, almost certainly, have been in a more difficult position now. Once again, enormous thanks for your support in these unprecedented times.
The Calcot Collection
With Alton already being compliant to the ESOS and SECR schemes and having consistently bought renewable energy for a number of years now it was an obvious step for us to move to Carbon Neutrality. We have a great relationship with ECA and the whole process has taken us just less than 6 weeks to achieve which is a fantastic result. Our commitment is to continue to drive improvement throughout our sites over the coming years."
this is not only a fantastic achievement for our group but also for the industry as we can all make such a big difference with a small amount of effort. We have been very clear that our environmental responsibilities need to be taken seriously across the group and it was paramount that we commit to a meaningful reduction plan and not just to offset what we currently generate. “Being Carbon Neutral reassures our customers that they’re working with a company that does all we can to reduce the environmental impact of our operations. Innovative solutions and delivery of the best possible service is what we do, and leading the way in the accident repair industry with this accreditation demonstrates our commitment to this... working with LV= General Insurance and ECA Business Energy has enabled us to achieve this and we hope others will now follow suit.”
ABL achieving PAS2060 at the LV= General Insurance Sole site will create that catalyst of change which will demonstrate to our customers our environmental responsibilities through its Approved Repair Network. “This is new but important territory for us and our Repairers, which will help deliver a market leading change. ABL along with ECA have now created a blueprint model for the sustainable future of a Bodyshop, which in turn contributes towards our future Corporate Social Responsibility plans within our own Network.”

This is something which benefits everyone including our own staff, our customers, our supply chain partners and most importantly our planet.

This is an incredibly exciting and important project, we’re very grateful to Steve and his team at ECA for the guidance they’re providing. We see PAS2060 as “Win-Win-Win”, as well as both the bodyshop and AGM benefitting from the changes implemented, the environment and society as a whole benefits. In addition to the PAS2060 standard we’re also working on a green Spray Booth service package specifically aimed at cutting carbon emissions for bodyshop customers that will help them on their own journey to net zero whenever they’re ready to make that step”
Independent repairer Brandon ARC have recently achieved carbon neutral status in accordance with PAS2060 through their partnership with ECA Business Energy. The achievement was reached for the period ending December 2020, making Brandon ARC the first independent repair businesses to achieve this accolade through ECA and underlines their long-standing philosophy of being energy efficient. “I’m really proud that we have been able to become carbon neutral at this relatively early stage of the industries push to become more environmentally friendly” explains Paul King, owner of Brandon ARC. “ECA were brilliant, as were my team, in taking this journey to reduce our emissions but as importantly, it allowed us to look at some basic and well-established business practices and make changes that we possibly wouldn’t have considered”. The business will be promoting their achievement to their many clients and are also fully engaging with their supply chain to ensure close compliance to and development of environmentally friendly practices and procedures. Steve Silverwood, Managing Director of ECA Business Energy said “We are delighted to have supported Paul and the team at Brandon on their journey to carbon neutral. As an organisation they were already committed to being a responsible and environmentally aware repairer and this achievement further supports this commitment, we look forward to helping them achieve their sustainability goals over the coming years” Brandon ARC were established in 1997 and are based on the Suffolk/Norfolk/Cambridgeshire borders.
